B is Beginning...

When I think the letter B, I first think of  beginnings. SARK has some wonderful things to say about this word. "Beginnings are brand new chances...let the buoyancy of the beginning carry you to new places".  I took an online course,  a self-discovery type class. We had to use a shoe box, on the outside make a self portrait. The inside images were meant to represent our foundation. I chose a bridge over the bay(where I am from). One woman, couldn't get over me using a bridge, " doesn't seem like a good foundation" she posted.  I could see where she was coming from, shaky. But in reality, it was shaky. Life is fragile; I found that out at age 10.  My Uncle died of Leukemia at 27, his wife 8 months pregnant; he never met his son. My Dad had his first heart attack, later that year. The bridge represented for me, connections, new paths, on another journey and emotions to be faced.  I'm a Navy spouse and have moved 17 x in 27 yrs. There is a lot of change, moving onward, a bridge represents this for me. BUT isn't life a bridge. It is something we have to cross to reach another destination to explore new places, meet new people, as we build our lives.
We all have bridges to cross, some over troubled water and some for joy n' celebrations.  Speaking of bridges, visit Jessica Bell  and read more about her new book, "String Bridge" here is her book trailer.
She is singing a song, her Mom wrote...Amazing-oops wrong letter, Beautiful, that's better ;-D!
We continue to learn as we journey over our own bridges~ It reminds me of another word you will need on your journey. Believe in yourself and in magic! "I feel I've barely begun, I believe I'm capable of so much more"~SARK.
Don't forget to sign up for my Give away, you may need this dress to wear to that next event...the one the bridge will take you to  ;-D

We do have our bridges to cross. Sometimes they need to be burned to the ground too!

I'm so with you. Sometimes the hardest of life's circumstances can bring about the most amazing beginnings and I ADORE beginnings... (so much easier than tying things off with no messy details)

Great post Ella. The analogy is wonderful but in real life... I'll drive 2 hours not go over a big bridge :)

I loved your post. The idea of collecting memories in boxes is a great one. I guess it is so we can look at them in safety knowing we can put them away where they cannot do any harm. Bridges are beautiful in architecture and in life too.

A bridge is a great way to describe a foundation. They can be just as strong as any other form of foundation! Great examples and excellent post!

Hello. I'm on the A-Z trails. For me bridges represent transitions - we go through so many changes during our lifetimes. Good food for thought.

a bridge is interesting.. but I think it's part of you.. and you don't need to explain yourself LOL I like the dandelion seeds... great... new spring look... I also have seen that book trailer a lot.. looks like a good book... maybe we should both read it and post about it.

Life is full of bridges leading out of one place and into another. It's smart not to burn the bridges from whence we've come. Never know when it's necessary to revisit some places.

Bridges as a foundation. I love the idea of reaching out into the world that way.

I like it. Without bridges, our brains wouldn't work - bridges between cells. Nothing works well without bridges. Bridges have good foundations, by the way - one on each end. I like it. ;)

I do believe life is full of bridges to cross and I have been very scared of bridges since I was a child.
I enjoyed the book trailer (we are recording the music for my book trailer tomorrow).
The song was beautiful!

A new beginning is exciting and frightening. It's like a new morning, another chance to try for what you didn't quite manage the day before, but also another chance to fail. I love your analogy with bridges. They seem to hold a deep meaning in many myths and legends too.

Bridges are connective links. Taking us from here to there wherever that might be. I love the idea of bridge as a foundation for life. It speaks to movement, continuing the journey, ever aware that this moment can only lead to the next.

Elizabeth
Thanks for visiting my blog via A to Z.

Bridges are wonderful! They may be crossed, burned, avoided, torn down, reinforced, walked alone or with a friend. So much of life is all of those things, or none of them, depending on the circumstance and the person. Bridges to me represent possibilities, and most possibilities do not come with the promise of success, but with the opportunity for it. What we do with it is up to us. Great post.

Very thoughtful and touching piece. The idea of "Bridges" as a representation of "Beginnings" is very appropriate. I completely agree with your interpretation.
Beautiful post. It's a great way to view life.
