Imaginary Garden

Today was my turn to write a poetry prompt over at the Imaginary Garden.  I wondered what to do?  Then the image of an ADMIT ONE ticket stuck in my mind. Lightening struck and it came to me.  A movie type prompt, one with two options. Either pick between using a movie title in your poem or using a famous movie quote. I offered a link to this site.  I wish I had written this ahead, so I could do my homework earlier.  I don't work this way.  So, here I am trying to figure out what speaks to me. I looove movies, who doesn't! It is such an unique art form, the music, the artistry, the acting, the story/writing, and the mood! Almost all of our senses are engaged. I can hear you, I know touch and taste. Most do get a snack and touch can happen, a hand squeeze or your significant other putting their arm around you or you them.   What is your favorite movie or quote?  Care to share?

I selected "Blade Runner"  I loved the quote and my husband and I were talking about this movie. I told him there was talk of it being redone.  This is not my favorite movie, but this quote attracted my attention and I really did like the movie. It was so intriguing for the time, it made it's debut~

Quote: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die."

Journey to the sea of stars
charted by mood, method and manner
Imagination links the eternal
Invasion of conscious thought
slays repressed guilt
flux of chaos
teaches human condition
order segments our traditions
I've seen things you people wouldn't  believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near
Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will
be lost in time like tears in the rain.
Time to die
to leave timeless appeal
reflected voyage
stops misguided memories
visit another planet
where darkness swirls and the sun shines
at midnight
take your bucket list to
the main garden gate
repair your silver scars.

This poem didn't reflect the movie. It was my own view of a day, I would rather be somewhere else.

Another take on the prompt:

"...And remember, my sentimental friend, that a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others." Wizard of Oz

Red passion outlines yellow lies
hope grows in rows worked by vibrant green thumbs
Harvest has not dried out spirit
spring forward, do not fall back
journey onward to land of deepest dreams
where wind spins colored cotton
patches of courage bring one back to life
moon smiles at warrior's hour
A girl, heals from the inside
when trembling wisdom arrives.
GO teach
discover your
deepest fear
catch your breath
"...And remember, my sentimental friend,
that a heart is not judged by how much you love,
but by how much you are loved by others."

Beautiful poems. I, too, like to plan my bogs but it doesn't always happen that way. They're mostly produced off the fly.

Oh, I especially like the second poem, the ending 'catch your breath' ...and that beautiful quote from the Wizard of Oz!
The one for Blade Runner is awesome! That is one of my favorite movie quotes. Yes, they are talking of remaking it, which would be a total shame.

I also loved the imaginative possibilities offered by the Bladerunner quote, and the Wizard of Oz line just never gets old.

Thank you for this prompt, Ella. It was something completely different, and I'm sure everyone had fun with it. I promise to get to my own poem just as soon as this hectic week is over.

Ella- I'm so glad to "see" you back! I was getting concerned. I love your prompt and the second piece here really speaks to me. I will try to post a piece.

Great stuff, Ella. I was wondering if you find it difficult to respond to your own prompt. I see you definitely didn't this time!

just the thought of Blade Runner + poetry is such an unexpected turn-on, thanks for that and for this fun prompt, Ella. xo

Marian-I have to go watch the movie this weekend! Thank you, I loved your response! I have a headset now I'm ready for your next movie challenge! I have tiny ears and can't find anything to fit. Tis strange my ears did not grow up, lol

Kay- I don't plan ahead. I so could and save myself, but I never do. It is usually last minute trying to pull an idea out and then post it and ponder what am I going to say, lol I did struggle and I don't like some of it, but that is the way it goes, sometimes.
You are kind ;D

Mama Zen-Thank you so much!

Laurie-Thank you, yes life threw me a curve ball. I'm tired and throwing the ball back, lol
I love what you did, clever~

Kerry-I want another go at the Bladerunner. I might watch it this weekend! I do think it was unexpected and fun! Thank you Kerry!

Alex-It is always scary when they do a remake. It never lives up to the original~ Thank you! I need to watch it this weekend! Ridley Scott is brilliant behind the camera~ I liked him as an actor, too.

Mary-Thank you; I love the timeless view of this movie. It never gets old, for me. I have fond memories and I can do the witch's voice. I use to record it on my answering machine for Halloween. Someone accused me of copyright infringement, it was me.

Shelly-Maybe it is better this way!
We think to much and then the voice isn't as authentic! :D
Thank you~

Yvonne-Thank you, I am so glad it brightened your day :D

both of these pieces were beautiful, the second one being my favorite. I loved "catch your breath..." I haven't seen Blade Runner, but who doesn't love "the Wizard of Oz" :)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind words!
