Simply Poetic

I  have struggled trying to find my style.  I see other artist's work and I know it is theirs.  Me, I'm all over the place.  I have been working on some projects, to submit to a Stampington challenge called
Simply Smitten. Yes, it is for Valentine's Day.  As the process went on I had many interruptions, hubby came home one day at noon, daughter had Colorguard and other activities, son had the day off and decided to stay home(so not the norm). I had made a few things a month before, but wanted to include other items, for this challenge.  Between thundershowers,( yes, we lost the power),  needing a new ink jet,  and spray glued fingers, (twice) I finished!!!   I was dancing out of the post office yesterday, when I mailed off my box of hope n' dreams.  I had many  Lucy and MacGyver adventures, but I think my style is starting to appear.  Maybe ;D

Here is a peek:

Such an intriguing glimpse.....and yes, your style, and your voice, are definitely your own. You have a very unique style, kiddo, and the art that results is beautifully original. Almost every time I come to your blog, it has been artistically rearranged, and always is stunning.

Hugs to you and best wishes on this journey.

The beauty lies in the attention to detail. So much effort involved in such a project, and being a mother and wife can cramp the artist's style! All the best for the competition.

Hi dear Ellen, I am glad to see you're finding your "style" although I believe your work is already recognizable...at least to me. I still haven't finished my pieces for the same challenge, not sure I'll make the deadline. I hope to see the rest of yours in the actual issue.

xo, abby

We are so much alike, I'm all over the place, too, and always admire the ones that you just 'know' as soon as you see thier work.. Scarlett-Best of luck to you! Your color combo is one of my favorite! I remember the day I drove past this antique place. We had just moved to this area. There was a quilt outside in those colors, amazing! The white was a bit more Ecru, but it was so beautiful! Thank you... :D
I know I envy that kind of work/art, too~ I'm still all over the place, but having fun with this style for awhile. I want to try Citra-solv...have you tried it?! First I have to find it...lol

Lynette-You are so kind :D It might be the military life style...?! Honestly, I think it is because I always wanted to be an art teacher and a death, an illness detoured me.
