Cinderella

                                                                          *****

A bit of magic
lurks in daylight's rose
her blush cheeks
flush sky's
smile

 goodness
lurks
through
heart's aperture
imagination clouds
roll into
third eye
cherub glee
ebbs n' flows
like the ocean's
true blue serenade

courage to trust
grey garden's
 glints of gold
painted
trees'
 hands
sewn in spines
stitched with dreams
in wafts of vanilla, moss and lilac
peel back life's layers

Brave soul with
constellation's freckles
your daisy crown
n' wild child nature
roam earth's
horizon
 searching for stars
on earth
which twinkle
the brightest.

I have had quite an evening!  I took a lot of photos of giggling girls and  cute couples dressed in their best.  Oh, to be young again-nah!   I don't want to force and pinch my feet in high heels or deal with teenage drama.   I didn't mind being in my rags on the other side of the camera.

This is beautiful. I love the ending. I need to let a bit more of my wild child nature resurface.

Simple things make life pretty and glittery things might make it shine but for a little time.

Must be prom night, Ella. We are planning to attend our 17-year-old grand-daughter's prom at the end of May. It is just after the graduation ceremony.

I liked reading this, I like to see what the prompt writer writes. You did a good job, Ella. And thank you for the nice prompt, it made for a fun write.
Your lines, "sewn in spines stitched with dreams
in wafts of vanilla, moss and lilac peel back life's layers" intrigued me, especially the pealing back of those layers of life.
..
A sweet read, and the glass slipper pic is a nice tyouch
enjoyed this very much but also enjoyed you expressing your joy over the day of taking pics of youngsters playing or dressed up and the such whilst the photographer to them while dressed in her 'drags'.

lovely piece, gracias for sharing

Ah, did you have a daughter at the prom tonight? That is such a lovely poem, Ella. I especially like your final stanza. I hope everyone had a good time!
I doubt you looked like you were dressed in rags.
Constellation's freckles - I can relate.
Magical poem, Ella!

Oh, how absolutely enchanting! I saw the movie on Thursday and fell in love with the story all over again. Your poem captured it. I loved this, Ellen --- it is a fairy tale with possibilities.
