The Finish Line

Izzie prompted us for the last day of National Poetry Month, with
  'A BANG...A WHIMPER....A SYLLABANT HISS '

Izzie's prompt:  IMAGINE---

"A few minutes from now, you  lose all means of communication with humanity.  You will not die, but will no longer be able to interact with the world.  Whats the last thing you say?"

KEEP IN MIND
"Like every challenge, your poem must by newly written for this challenge and not one which you have previously written which conveniently fits the theme."

Pick roses
not  thorns
pluck words
which float
like wings
in silvered
salmon light
jumping upon
puddles of day
 into rainbows of
night
keep your
Indigo child
alive
in mirror's edge.

I have had my son's puppy, Wade today.  I am worn out, running, being dragged through puddles and playing chase.  I blew a huge bubble with my gum and scared the hell out of him.  He keeps waking my husband up so I have to run down the hall and haul him back out into the living room.

I want to commend all of you that finished the National Poetry Challenge and those of you-who did the A-Z blogging challenge.

Congrats!!!

"puddles of day/into rainbows of/night". You always say the yummiest things... even when you're about t die! And I love that. And this, too. ;-)

I am astounded by your simplicity and tenderness here. This piece carries the hallmarks of last words as spoken through some one weathered enough to known the importance of last words. Well done and viva la

The beauty captured so well in the light and deeper into night, this creates a good memory.

A gift of words and sweet images, Ellen --- very beautiful!

p.s. -- The "I am not a robot" verification is getting stranger now. This time the instructions said, "Select all sushi below." Weird, isn't it? At least it keeps spam away...
Congrats to you too, Ella. A sweet poem to finish on.

Yes, as final words these are words to cherish. Beautifully done, Ellie. Love your array of gorgeous art, too. I smile at the thought of Wade plunging you through puddles. Puppies are the best!

Your poem is just beautiful, like something that wafts on the air to wake you from a pleasant dream. And your blog is looking great, too! All those publications. It looks really cool, yippee!
Hey as an aside... IF this interests you. I just learned a Blogger trick so that when you want to put a photo with a link as a widget on the side, you don't have to put a word/title in there. That was bugging me for years and I finally figured out how to have the image by itself. Let me know if you want the trick! It's simple.
xoxoxxo and whew, it's May! M.
