The Violet's Message

Over in the Imaginary Garden, Susie shared artist John Everett Millais. 
Today's challenge is to choose one of the following paintings and give voice to the subject's thoughts. Is there joy, boredom, worry? Are there any hints in the painting itself?


Violet's Dream


 plump apple cheeks 
frame
cupid's bow 
torn parcel
lifts latch 
to
heart's red door

 beeswax mood
softens, melts
sky blue eyes 
onto
strawberry moon-like skin
gentle rain

gray garden
holds
fenced in dreams
realizing
song bird
is  free----

hug

This is very cool - "heart's red door", "strawberry moon-like skin", and the hands like shutters hugging ink's hope. Wow.

'hands like shutters...' this and all of your similes gives layers of color and depth to the painting--and to the thoughts of the girl portrayed.

Hi Susie-Thank you, so much~ I love this challenge-I might do another painting, soon. It does make me want to try painting again~ He is so, gifted and talented-thank you, for sharing him~

Sherry-Thank you! Now, I want to go paint-tee,hee. No way, first I have to finish stitching clouds and adding the sky's eyes to my art. You would laugh if you saw what I was making-I will share soon!

Yolanda-Thank you! Yes, I wanted the spring's strawberry moon and the four leaf clover to say what I was thinking. The shutters determine how much we are willing to share and what we chose to hold in our heart's mind.

Describing the opening of the envelope in the first stanza is itself exquisite. So also the others. Great lines Ella!

The way the words fall in this - it almost makes me think of raindrops in a garden, watering the flowers before they were pressed and sent. It's a beautiful fit with the prompt.
