reverb: 5 minutes

Prompt: 5 minutes. Imagine you will completely lose your memory of 2010 in five minutes. Set an alarm for five minutes and capture the things you most want to remember about 2010.  author: Patti Digh

In her book " Creative is a Verb" she mentions creative commitments:  (1) Be Ordinary, (2) See More, (3) Get Present, (4) Catch Fire, (5) Clear Ground, and (6) Let Go. This would be an interesting way to sum up the year. I set the timer and this is what I came up with. We will see if I hit the categories. I thought this photo was appropriate, since this has a game like feel~

5min what do you want to remember about 2010(Remember this is if I you were going to lose your memory):

My husband, seeing that I needed to try a creative direction and supporting me, while I tested the waters. My son doing well in college, changed his major, loves it, Industrial Technologies. I would want to remember his hugs and humorous jokes, always finding a way to make me laugh. His impressions of the Dark Knight and other zany characters. He always speaks Japanese, when he doesn't want me to know what he is saying.  I found community online, made me feel like I belonged. Taking an online class, opened my eyes made me rethink things and move forward. I started writing poems, for fun. The ending of my class I had to write a mission statement, it paved the way, the path for me to open my horizons and narrow my focus.  I remember when our beagle ran off and the joy when he returned. Yes, covered in mud, from chasing something through the swamp. I remember the biggest, brightest falling star I have ever seen, amazing! . My daughter for giving me so much joy. The goofy silly times of dancing, rocking out and crazy make overs. Our latest indoor snow ball fight was so much fun. (we use pompoms).  I want to thank her for helping me get ready for the Navy Ball.  She did a good job, I was told I looked 10 yr younger. She wants to be a cosmetologist. I want to thank my son for moving stuff, when I couldn’t and always shocking me.  My Dad's humor lives on in my children. The haunted house adventure, with my daughter n' her boyfriend. The ceiling was coming down on us and then the sides of the room, I kept running into doors and walls. It felt like we were the Three Stooges
I want to remember going  fishing with hubby, his silly phone messages and his love.
I want to remember conquering the cold feet of sending my art work in to be published. It felt like a big accomplishment to move forward~
For being published on Crescendoh and opening my Etsy store and all the new online friends I made~

Try it see what you remember most...

Ella - What a great exercise! You've made a fantastic list. The inside snowball fight, your son speaking in Japanese and your daughter helping you get ready for the ball sound like such wonderful memories. Can't wait to take the time to think mine over. =D

Loved your post.
When it comes to me, I kinda want to forget 2010 :) It was quite a bad year for me in all areas possible (except in the blogging domain), unlike 2009 which was a great year. Hope 2011 will bring us all some happiness, success, love and joy!
