I built a Tardis

Truth be told, my son wanted to build a Tardis for his girlfriend's birthday.   He wanted it small enough to hold her gifts- jewelry!   He wanted it to light up.  Ok, I didn't build a Tardis, but I helped

Admiral blue paint was the ticket to get the look.  My son printed out key elements and had an idea for the bulb.  His father suggested another idea and ta da-we built a Tardis.

It has been an odd week between Zombie meds for my injury-I discovered these tiny watermelon looking grapes growing in my garden.  Strange looking aren't they!

I was curious and ate one. It looked like a watermelon shaped like a grape and tasted like a cucumber-how odd...

I had art supplies to return to  the attic.  I hate crawling in there, spiders lurking and projects I need to finish-haunting me like ghosts. Every time I go in there I bang my head into a beam.   Cautiously I crawled into the dim lit space bumping into a form.

 "Hey Ella, its me."

"Dr. Who what are you doing in my attic?

"Ella, its me, Alex."

"Alex what, how, who?"

"Your Tardis brought me here. Your my only hope."

"Alex, Ninja Captain, you are Who?  I like your bow tie." my head hurts.

"Ella, you must keep my alias a secret. Alex Cavanaugh is my nom de plume."

"Ok, Captain Who, I mean Dr. Ninja, I mean Alex."  I am confused, "didn't you find hidden treasure in your attic?   What are you doing in mine?"

"I think we were just going through some old boxes and drawers, purging a lot of junk. (Amazing how much of it accumulates over the years.) One drawer had some writing tablets of mine and one of them has CassaStar across the cover.  It was awful, but it sparked in me the idea to rewrite it."

"Cool Captain, by the way how is Mrs. AC or Mrs. Who doing?"

"Great,  Ella can you help me spread the word about my final book in my space opera
and take the world by storm."

"Sure thing Cool, I mean Who, I mean Alex."

The Tardis is cool.
You ate one? Brave woman. No idea what it is.
And thanks for helping with the launch! Dig the exchange. That's a great touch. Mrs. C would approve.

Alex in the attic and with an alternate persona. That's a lot of totally new information. It goes to show you never can tell.

Didn't Alex want a teleporter. . .?
Nice, Ella, Nice.

That Tardis is so cool, Ella! You could definitely sell these at fan conventions or online! You're a brave girl for eating the "watermelon grape" without first knowing what it was!
Arlee Bird said…
I've never heard of a tardis or a grape that looks like a watermelon but tastes like a cucumber, but I have heard of Alex. At least the name strikes me as familiar.
