Reflections...

The ups and downs of the weather have me fighting with my sinuses again-the weather is crazy!  I hope you are feeling well~

My horoscope was rather odd today! Yes, it happens once in a blue moon-the words seem to suit you!  I know it is the law of physics, but this was especially unique~

Taurus Horoscope for week of November 7, 2013
Verticle Oracle card Taurus (April 20-May 20)
"Poetry might be defined as the clear expression of mixed feelings," wrote W.H. Auden. If that's true, then your job is to be a poet right now. You seem to be awash in a hubbub of paradoxical inclinations, complete with conflicting desires and mismatched truths. There's no shame or blame in that. But you do have a responsibility to communicate your complexity with honesty and precision. If you can manage that, people will treat you with affection and give you extra slack. They might even thank you.

Try this: Prime your connection with spirit by focusing your attention on tones and shapes you usually miss: reflections in windows, the sky between the oak tree's branches, the shadows on the water, the two different emotions in a friend's eyes and mouth.

Go here to check yours!

What makes this even more bizarre is-the art I created yesterday!  I followed the advice of Alex and Sherry!!   Thank you~   I have been playing with creating visual poetry.   I was inspired by Emily Dickinson's poetry.  The woman ended up a hermit.  Her nickname was 'The Myth'.   It is written she had a penchant for white and was often seen peering out  her window.   I recently saw this book, The Gorgeous Nothings: Emily Dickinson's Envelope Poems- I was intrigued.  I created art representative of her envelope poems.  I am getting ready to mail my art in for an art challenge.  I wrote the cover letter and in it I mentioned 'reflections in windows'.

Yes, this horoscope definitely got my attention!

Over at dVerse,,  Grace was talking about the time change!  She told us she is  thankful to see the sun on her morning commute.  The time change makes me crave light, even though I do love the night-my time alone to write.  How do you feel about  the time change,  the lack of light?

Enlightened Mysteries

I crave trickling honey
caressing my hair
playing hide n' seek
black box catches it
adjusting for freeze fast
I lock in and capture
expose it
thread it through my day
and hope tomorrow
it bleeds and seeps
into my soul's
 enlightened mysteries
like lightening bugs
dancing on paper

I usually have a difficult time adjusting to the time change. Not sleeping well, awakening way too early ...

'Like lightening bugs dancing on paper'. .. What an enchanting vision!

i like the unusual comparison very much.
LOVE your imagery, Ella! and your artwork is FABulous! good luck on the art challenge. i just received an "acceptance" email for a submission to an anthology and they not only wanted massive edits to my poem, they wanted me to change the way i write my name! (they have something against all lower case letters, i guess.) needless to say, i declined their acceptance.

take care of yourself, dear, and i hope you feel better soon.

*BIG HUGS*

agree with the other voices, that your art is intriguing and hopefully will see more

I love the 'enlightened mystery' of your poem and the images you wrote, Ella...especially 'lightning bugs dancing on paper.' I enjoyed the wordplay with the word 'light.' Smiles.
Ella, both are beautiful! Glad you decided to combine. As I said, I think you've already been doing it for a long time.

Some days all things just seem to come into alignment. Hope you get to feeling better. I have been dealing with the same.

Wanda-I think it might be an allergy, for me! I wonder if that could be true for you?! Keep a food journal and write down the times you feel bad, too. There may be a link-I know what my allergies are soy n' peanuts(in most everything). I'm back to eating cavewoman food ;D

Alex-Thank you! The thing is I have been doing it-but not on my own accord. I am creating art I think the magazine wants. Here I am creating what I want and maybe it will fit one of their challenge and maybe not. This is where I need to trend-you n' Sherry reminded me of this~ Thank you *smiles* Off to finish my IWSG-is it really November?! augh...

Mary-Yes, those lightening bugs do glow in our dark worlds. Hopefully our poems offer someone some light!
Thank you~

Grace-I love that you are a Taurus, too. We are actually gentle creations who would love to bask in the sunshine and blossoms of the day. The myth about the china closet is so not me. I bet it isn't you either...
Thank you so much~

Nene-Thank you! Yes, we do recognize the descending light and try to capture it! Thanks again...

dani-I am so sorry! How sad-okay a few edits, but it sounds like they wanted to change who you are?!
Tough call, but I'd say you made the right one~ (((hugs))) xo
This makes me sad...

Vandana-Thank you so much~ *smiles*

Brian-Thank you! I am going to try this medium out~ It is intriguing to research poets and see what inspired them~ *smiles to you*

Helen-Me too! It usually takes me a few weeks to adjust~ Some states do not "fall back"-I have lived in a few~ Thank you so much!

Nicely done. The time change is annoying, but I think the change in the sun's angle is overall harder to deal with.

Hi Mystic Mom-Thank you~ I agree it is hard to deal with~ This might explain why I don't want to take down the Christmas tree-lol. No, I don't have it up, yet~
